What is the Inland Sea?
Khor Al Adaid is a tidal inlet of the Gulf that reaches into the desert in the south-east of Qatar, close to the border with Saudi Arabia. Its blue water, white sand and high dunes make for a striking contrast.
Getting there
The route runs over soft sand and requires a 4x4 and an experienced driver. It is not safe for ordinary vehicles. Most visitors go on a guided safari from Doha.
What you can do
Walk on the shore, take photographs, enjoy a swim or paddle where conditions allow and enjoy a snack in a beach camp.
