Use the metro for the core
The metro links the airport, central Doha, Lusail and Education City. It is quick, clean and air-conditioned, and a good way to reach areas such as Msheireb or Katara.
Taxis and ride-hailing
Licensed taxis and ride-hailing apps are plentiful and affordable compared with many Western cities. Keep your hotel name and address saved in Arabic and English.
Walk the compact areas
Souq Waqif, Msheireb, the Corniche and Katara are all walkable. Take advantage of evenings for a stroll.
Hire a driver for day trips
For the desert, the north and the west coast, a private driver or guided tour is far easier than a rental car.
